One observation in the seven weeks I’ve been here, is that people talk to you in the queue at the supermarket. Back home, you’d just look at other people’s groceries and potentially judge them if it’s weird, and feel a bit bad. But here, people make conversation out of the items on the conveyor belt. For example, one lady asked me what I was planning to do with my chow mein sauce.
It’s actually very sweet, I think we should all converse at the conveyor belt.
